The University of Salamanca hosts the II International AGRIENVIRONMENT Symposium (IAS 2026)

The University of Salamanca will organize the II International AGRIENVIRONMENT Symposium (IAS 2026) on July 23 and 24, 2026 , an international scientific meeting that will bring together experts, researchers and professionals from the agro-environmental field in the city of Salamanca . The symposium will feature an outstanding scientific program and the participation of renowned international speakers, including Sophien Kamoun , Fernando Valladares , Sabine Zimmermann , Eliana Pereira , Pablo del Cerro Sánchez and José Manuel Estevez . An international forum on agro-environmental innovation The IAS 2026 is configured as a reference platform for the exchange of knowledge in key areas such as: Plant Biology Plant-microorganism and plant-pathogen interactions Natural polyphenols and bioactive compounds Agro-environmental sustainability Socioeconomic impacts and policy design The meeting places special emphasis on plant-microorganism interactions , a strategic area for advancing towards more sustainable, resilient and innovative agricultural systems. Opportunities for researchers and open access One of the highlights of the symposium is its accessibility , as registration will be free , facilitating the participation of the international scientific community. Fruit Attraction, from October 6 to 8, at IFEMA

From October 6 to 8, Fruit Attraction will once again transform Madrid into the world's leading meeting point for the fruit and vegetable sector. Organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX , the trade fair is preparing its 18th edition and has opened the application period for participation for all companies in the industry . Under the slogan "Where the essence of the sector connects with the world" , and after the resounding success of last year, Fruit Attraction returns stronger than ever to continue building the future of the sector . Fruit Attraction will occupy more than 78,000 m2 spread across 10 pavilions at IFEMA MADRID – 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 14 – where the products, solutions, new varieties and formats, research, trends, and innovations of over 2,400 participating companies will be presented. This entire offering will be distributed across four specialized areas: Fresh Produce, Auxiliary Industry, Fresh Food Logistics, and Innova&Tech. Furthermore, the potato will be the star product. With all this, the fair anticipates setting a new attendance record with more than 121,000 professionals from 152 countries. Furthermore, Fruit Attraction will offer a platform for international growth and expansion through its 'International Buyers Program,' which, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food , ICEX , and FEPEX , will invite 700 major buyers, retail purchasing managers , importers, and wholesalers from over 50 countries to Madrid. Also noteworthy within this framework is the 'Guest Importing Countries' program, which this year will feature China and the United Arab Emirates . Valencia will host the 6th National Congress of Agricultural Engineers in October

The event, which will be held from October 27 to 30, 2026 at the City of Arts and Sciences, will bring together professionals and experts to analyze the major changes that are redefining agricultural engineering. Valencia will host the 6th National Congress of Agricultural Engineers , which will take place from October 27 to 30, 2026, at the City of Arts and Sciences . The event is envisioned as a strategic opportunity to reflect on the future of the profession, explore new development opportunities, and address the challenges transforming the agri-food, rural, and environmental sectors. The congress will focus on 12 key drivers of transformation that will shape the evolution of agricultural engineering in the coming years. These include digitalization, water management, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, plant health, bioindustry, waste valorization, food transformation, and new professional skills. Each of these themes will include a keynote address by leading experts, followed by expert panels , networking opportunities, and bilateral meetings to delve deeper into experiences, case studies, and collaboration opportunities. The provisional program includes sessions on artificial intelligence, sensors and robotics applied to decision-making; hydraulic infrastructure and water governance; bioenergy and rural development; green infrastructure and landscape; agri-food support industry; new bio-industries; project engineering and skills for the new generation of professionals. Alongside the technical sessions, the congress will include several special spaces, such as “Crossfire: 75 years of the profession” , coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the National Organization; a debate on agricultural, rural and environmental policy in the European Union and other international models; a session dedicated to the presence of the agricultural engineer in film and television; and a closing ceremony aimed at defining a roadmap for the future of the profession. With this new edition, the National Congress of Agricultural Engineers aims to consolidate itself as a benchmark forum to anticipate trends, strengthen professional identity and highlight the role of agricultural engineering in the face of major global challenges.
